When the booking system is integrated with Argus tracking, vehicle data is synced from Argus to PVBS
Sync a new vehicle from Argus
To sync a new vehicle on PVBS, to the Argus platform it must have
- a valid Make and Model
- a Pooled Asset toggle enabled
Vehicles met above criteria will show up on PVBS with their Registration, Make, Model, Colour, Year, and Odometer prepopulated . You can then find the vehicle on Maintain Vehicles page and update the Location and Availability sections of the vehicle profile for it to be available on PVBS.
If you are using the geofence function for auto pickup and dropoff, you will need to make sure the vehicle's asset group matches that for the correct geofence. See this article from Argus for more details on Pooled Geofence's Create a Pool Booking Geofence.
Update vehicle information
You can simply update vehicle information on Argus, and the changes on Make, Model, Colour, Year, and Odometer will be synced to PVBS.
If you would like to change the number plate of a vehicle, e.g. when the original number plate has been stolen, you can update the number plate on Argus, and PVBS will create a new vehicle profile with the new number plate. then you can update the vehicle's Location and Availability sections of the vehicle profile, then dispose the vehicle profile with the old number plate.
Remember to move all future bookings on the old vehicle to the new one before it is updated to disposed.
Change vehicle location
Both PVBS and Argus need to be updated if a vehicle is relocating permanently from one location to another. On PVBS, you will need to update the Location section of the vehicle profile to the new Group/Department/Location. Then on Argus, if you are using the geofence function for auto pickup and dropoff, you will need to update the vehicle's asset group to the one that matches the geofence of the new location.
